Novembers Challenge part 2....

Good morning, Rikki here again with another share working on Novembers sketch, and remember my challenge? Four pieces of pattern paper and 4 different layouts, based on the sketch..... So I am sharing a boy layout today with this in mind with a different set of papers (the other layout you will see later in the week).

If your anything like me you have a stash of these RBS Polaroid frames..... they work perfectly next to a Project Life size journal card.

For a perfect masculine touch why dont you add a RBS Geometric shape to the page.

November Challenge

Good Morning Rikki here for  my week on Rainbow Splendour, today I am sharing with you one of my layouts based on this months November sketch. I must say when I saw this I was nervous.... I as a scrapper dont always do huge angled papers on my layouts, I think its because then I am suck with the off cuts. It then dawned on me that maybe this was the perfect opportunity to challenge my thinking, to get 4 layouts out of 4 pieces of pattern paper and to make them look different from each other......

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!!!!!

October Sketch at Rainbow Splendour! Take #2

So I took Chloe's awesome sketch.... and rotated it 90 degrees.... like this:

This simple rotation allowed me to create a whole new page design.... This is such an easy way to make one sketch be used over and over! flip, rotate, reverse... easy!


Here is my page and some close ups!


I gesso'd and gelato'd and stamped the background.... It does have a yellow paper at the base, which is really hard to photograph - I need a lesson! But I really like sticking my messy white backgrounds onto another piece of paper or cardstock - firstly because it is a nice frame for the page, but also because it helps the page lay flat, rather than warping from the paint and water.

I used one of the new Rainbow Splendour layered triangles, and a go-to-Rainbow Splendour leaf!

Rainbow Splendour on my page for ONCE UPON A SKETCH

I liked this month's sketch and prompt at Once Upon a Sketch...



The challenge also asked you to journal about the "girl" in your life.... I took a different tack - choosing to address myself as a girl! I found this old photo of myself looking so happy and decided it was a perfect time to remind myself to embrace happiness!

 

 

 Gesso background with stamping to create texture. Mist plus water for washed effect. More stamping and mist splatters to finish the background.

Journalling: Message to myself!

 

And the red chevron Rainbow Splendour bow was a perfect match to the colours on this page.

Hi everyone,

Well we were all a bit excited when Chloe designed us this sketch this month:

A wonderful sketch to inspire and of course, showcase Rainbow Splendour goodies!

Here is my page and some close ups!

Gorgeous photo of my dear dog Lulu, getting big hugs from my 2 rowdy cuddly youngest daughters!

Love the Rainbow Splendour pretty pins, nestled amongst Rainbow Splendour feathers and leaves.

The foam and sequins came from one of the BOY sprinkle packs in last months RS sale (plus I have HEAPS more left!).... and good news - Chloe has made more for our next sale! yay!
